Falcon’s Log – June 7, 2007
A mysterious package arrived at our offices today. We have no idea who sent it to us, but once we saw the odd device inside we certainly knew why. It looked almost ancient but at the same time far more advanced than any technology currently available on Earth... The design and markings clearly matched the Benefactor relics we recovered from our expedition to Tulum.
After a brief examination we were able to activate it. As a soft glow enveloped it we watched in stunned amazement as it levitated above the table. Suddenly a beam of light emanated from the device’s lens and it proceeded to scan us and then the room. When it reached our computer systems it took a second to interface before a message appeared on the screen:
“Greetings Humans, we are the Eloh. Your world and your species are in grave danger. A devastating scourge known as the Bane is coming. Heed well the following message for it holds the key to your survival.”
Eight Logos symbols appeared on the screen, but before we could translate them the Eloh device shorted out and crashed to the floor. As it did a blood chilling growl filled the room and the message was replaced by the following:
“We are the Bane. The Eloh can't help you. We will enslave mankind.”
The original message is still in our system but it has been scrambled by the Bane virus... The corrupted Eloh program is being held on network for now but we estimate the firewall will be breached sometime Saturday morning. If the Eloh warning is correct it is imperative we recover that message!
We need YOUR help to do it. You must locate all Eight Logos – they are scattered somewhere on our site, but beware of false Logos designed to lead you astray. From what we can tell the Bane virus appears to be mutating, so be vigilant. The Logos you find today may be gone tomorrow, only to be replaced by new ones in different locations.
We will do what we can to eliminate the virus and recover the message but time is of the essence. The first Five people to locate all Eight missing symbols of the message will be rewarded with a Beta Slot for Tabula Rasa. Special recognition will go to the first person to decode the message and solve the Mystery of the Eloh.

We’ve made some progress unscrambling the effects of the Bane virus, but not nearly as much as we’d like. Fortunately thanks to your efforts we have already recovered at least one of the missing symbols. Mith installed a sub-routine in our system that allows you to report found Logos symbols, so don’t forget to click them!
We’ll keep trying to decode things on our end but we need your continued vigilance!

We think we’ve found a way to increase the ratio of legitimate symbols to fake ones but it’ll take some time to unlock them all. We also stumbled onto something far more insidious... Apparently the Bane weren’t the only ones to hack into our systems. Rest assured cheating is easy to detect and easy to deal with.

We did it! The Bane virus has been eliminated - all eight Eloh symbols have been unlocked! Grab them all as quickly as you can!

Thanks to your valiant efforts the final Eloh message was finally revealed. We sincerely appreciate your tenacity. Although the winning times were extremely close the following five people were the first to successfully track down all the missing Logos symbols (and of course win a beta slot):

With the message translated the Eloh secret was finally revealed:
Congratulations Human.
You have proven yourself worthy to learn our secret.
Once you understand the power of Phi the tapestry of the Universe will unfold before you.
Do not take this knowledge lightly - the fate of your world and many others hang in the balance.
We must fight together or we will surely die alone...
The battle for control of the universe begins now!
Phi is the key symbol in the Eloh message discovered by the BSP back in February. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments.
Rules and Regulations
The great Logos search begins Saturday, June 9th and ends Friday, June 15th.
Cheating is wrong and makes kittens cry. It also results in immediate disqualification.
You must be 18 years or older to win a beta spot and be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. PlayNC account in good standing will be required to play. If you already have a beta account you are welcome to enter but the prize will go to another random participant selected by TR Stratics staff. We reserve the right to stop or suspend the contest at any time. Beta slots are provided by NCsoft and all winners are subject to their final approval, rules and regulations. All your base are belong to us. Do not post hidden Logos locations on the message boards. Do not post hidden Logos locations in IRC. Do not post hidden Logos locations on other community sites. Do not take candy from strangers. Do not create multiple accounts to increase your chances of winning. Winners will be contacted after results verification. Good luck to all!
